Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the NS Cell Towers application and website (the “Service”), provided by Fundy Tech Solutions Inc. (“Fundy Tech”, “we”, “us”), handles information. The Service is a free, informational map of publicly licensed cellular tower sites across Nova Scotia.

The short version

We do not require an account, we do not ask for your name or email to use the map, and we do not sell or share personal information. The app works almost entirely on your device.

Location data

The Service offers optional features that use your device’s location and orientation (compass) sensors — for example, centering the map on your position and the mobile “Locate” compass that points you toward nearby towers.

  • Location and compass access are only activated when you tap a feature that needs them, and only after your device grants permission.
  • Your location is processed on your device to calculate distance and direction to towers. We do not transmit your GPS coordinates to our servers or store them.
  • You can revoke location or sensor permission at any time through your device or browser settings.

Place search & geocoding

If you type a place name or address into the search box, that text is sent to a geocoding service in order to find the matching location on the map. This is used only to fulfil your search and is not linked to your identity.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand overall usage (such as how many people visit and which features are popular). This data is aggregated and is not used to personally identify you.

Map & tower data

Map tiles are served by third-party map providers, and tower information is derived from ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada) Spectrum Licences. Loading map tiles involves standard web requests (including your IP address) to those providers, as with any website. The tower data itself is public infrastructure information and contains no personal data about you.

Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
