Industry Overview

Nova Scotia's Wireless Carriers

Wireless service in Nova Scotia is provided by the three national incumbents — Bell, Rogers, and Telus — each with mid-tier and budget "flanker" brands, alongside Atlantic Canada's regional carrier, Eastlink. Together they own the tower infrastructure and spectrum licences that carry mobile traffic across the province.

How it works

Network Owners (MNOs)

The Big 3 (Bell, Rogers, Telus) own physical tower infrastructure and radio spectrum licences. They account for ~90% of all Canadian wireless subscribers.

Flanker Brands

Each major carrier operates 1–2 secondary "flanker" brands targeting price-sensitive customers. These brands run on the parent's network but with different plans and branding.

Regional Players

Eastlink (owned by Bragg Communications) owns local infrastructure across Atlantic Canada and uses roaming agreements for out-of-region coverage.
