Industry Overview
Wireless service in Nova Scotia is provided by the three national incumbents — Bell, Rogers, and Telus — each with mid-tier and budget "flanker" brands, alongside Atlantic Canada's regional carrier, Eastlink. Together they own the tower infrastructure and spectrum licences that carry mobile traffic across the province.

BCE Inc.
Largest subscriber base
Canada's largest telecom. Operates extensive fibre & wireless networks coast-to-coast.

Rogers Communications
Acquired Shaw in 2023
Major national carrier. Acquired Shaw Communications in 2023, expanding cable & media assets.

Telus Corporation
Strong rural coverage
National carrier headquartered in Vancouver. Known for network quality and rural coverage investments.

Bragg Communications
Atlantic Canada focus
Atlantic Canada-based regional carrier serving NS, NB, PEI, and parts of Ontario & Alberta.
Network Owners (MNOs)
The Big 3 (Bell, Rogers, Telus) own physical tower infrastructure and radio spectrum licences. They account for ~90% of all Canadian wireless subscribers.
Flanker Brands
Each major carrier operates 1–2 secondary "flanker" brands targeting price-sensitive customers. These brands run on the parent's network but with different plans and branding.
Regional Players
Eastlink (owned by Bragg Communications) owns local infrastructure across Atlantic Canada and uses roaming agreements for out-of-region coverage.
